Barnes & Noble Anton Corbijn first made his name as a rock photographer in the late 70s -- his stark images of post-punk legends Joy Division are nearly as iconic as the bands music -- but it wasnt long before he branched into the new field of music videos. This collection, part of the ongoing Directors Label series, showcases some of Corbijns best work from his 20-plus years in the medium. While his almost exclusively black-and-white work with Echo & the Bunnymen, U2, and Depeche Mode helped define both Corbijn and those bands in the 80s, its the oversaturated color -- colorized from black-and-white, actually -- he used in Nirvanas "Heart Shaped Box" video for which he may be best known. Other classic Corbijn clips featured here are the Rollins Bands "Liar," the spaghetti-western fantasy that is Depeche Modes "Personal Jesus," and Joy Divisions haunting "Atmosphere." Bonus features include commentary from many of the bands featured -- Ian McCulloch describes watching the Bunnymens 1984 video for "Seven Seas" as "Cringe City" -- plus a gorgeous 56-page book with interviews and exclusive art, and more.
