 Barnes & Noble There will be big hugs all around when you bring home this two-volume Tubbies-fest in which Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po frolic in Teletubbylands freshly fallen snow. Over the course of a leisurely-paced 90 minutes, the Teletubbies remember the snow. In a series of vignettes, they blissfully slide down rolling hills, build a snow-Tubby, make Tubby snow angels, run Indiana Jones-style from an ever-expanding snowball, and guess the shapes of their favorite toys buried beneath the snow. The spirit of the season is conveyed in live-action footage of holiday celebrations from such far-flung locales as Finland, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The holidays tend to bring out the sentimental worst in most childrens programs, but happily, Teletubbies -- the Twin Peaks of preschool series -- remains true to its whimsically bizarre and hallucinatory muse. Adults who want to use this hour-and-a-half for undisturbed holiday preparations, be warned: You may fall under the Teletubbies spell and be tempted to sit awhile and remember the snow, yourself.
