During the fall of the Tokugawa regime in Japan, one swordsman led the way into the Meiji Era, leaving a trail of carnage behind him. People throughout the country feared this man and called him Battousai, or the Manslayer. However, as the Meiji imperialists rose to power, the Battousai mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Stories of the red-haired samurai with an X-shaped scar on his cheek spread, and the Battousai became a legend.
