During the fall of the Tokugawa regime in Japan, one swordsman led the way into the Meiji Era, leaving a trail of carnage behind him. People throughout the country feared this man and called him Battousai, or the Manslayer. However, as the Meiji imperialists rose to power, the Battousai mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Stories of the red-haired samurai with an X-shaped scar on his cheek spread, and the Battousai became a legend. The artwork and color are incredible. The stories have value for the times we live in. The real beauty of the work is showing that war destroys and the characters are all able to build and believe again.
