Barnes & Noble Eventually remade for American eyes by Showtime, the original British Queer as Folk series boldly goes where no other TV drama has gone before. With a delightfully funny script drawing fine performances from the young cast, Queer as Folk is a vibrant, vital and honest look at modern gay life. Stuart Jones (Aidan Gillen) has got it all: Hes rich, drop-dead gorgeous, and always the center of attention. His best friend Vince Tyler (Craig Kelly), on the other hand, has zero confidence in himself. Since time began, Vince has carried a torch for Stuart but his love remains firmly unrequited. Theyre both 29, hitting the bars every night, but just starting to wonder where else their lives may be going. Then along comes Nathan Maloney. Young, wild and coming out with a vengeance, he crowbars his way into their world and once he arrives, nothing is ever the same again. You know you love it because its so aggresive!A viewer Good Show - But Its The British VersionA very funny and frank show about -- what else? -- relationships in the new millenium. Very watchable, but be forwarned! This is the British version, not the Showtime-produced American version.A viewer This show ROCKS!!!This show is a groundbreaking wave for U.S. television. Even though gay and lesbian characters are becoming more and more popular (i.e. Will and Grace), this show is so much more fun to watch. The sexual situations that these characters are involved in arent to just get your attention, they are to show that sex is sex (heterosexual or homosexual). Everyone does it and QAF is trying to make that point. Instead of being a supporting cast of characters, Queer As Folk shows you that gay men and women are just like everyone else. They live, love, laugh, and cry just like any other straight character on other shows do. Dont let this show pass you by because of the sexual orientation. Its a good show with lovable and hateable characters. Besides, its 2001--shouldnt we all be used to this by now? Also Recommended: British version--Queer As Folkxoxo- QGinny (elvisandme@cinci.rr.com), a true fan of QAF! Queer As FolkThis a great show to get into gay or straight! However for those who have never seen this before, Michael, does not own a comic book store but is an assoc. at the BIGQ (that is an inside joke I believe)and Emmett does not own a clothing store but is a sales assoc. at a clothing store. The nudity scenes and sexual interaction with characters are as the same as if it were a man and woman. They hold no stops and the stories will take you on a Faaaaaaaabulous ride. Enjoy! :)Also Recommended: Tales Of The City Interested in the song lyrics? - Check out themostlyrics.com! Looking For A DVD? - Check out dvd-a-rama.com! |
