If you dont think a monkey can shoot a screaming slap shot like Al MacInnis or get radical on a skateboard like Tony Hawk, then you dont know Jack -- the simian star of MVP: Most Valuable Primate. One of 1999s sweetest discoveries, Jack returns and makes a monkey out of an arrogant teammate on the Seattle Simians squad. When Jack is falsely accused of biting a player from another team, he takes to the streets, where he meets Ben, a young runaway and skateboard enthusiast. They become fast friends as they elude the authorities and take turns on Bens skateboard. Home Improvement costar Richard Karn gets the big hominid role here, portraying the friendly skateboard shop owner who takes in the duo and helps Ben enter a local skateboarding competition. The producers of Air Bud and its sequels score again with this G-rated comedy, which holds together nicely while proving beyond a doubt that adorable skateboarding monkeys are awesome.
