Barnes & Noble Now in its third season, the cult series LEXX remains one of Sci-Fi Channels crown jewels, triumphantly alternating currents of risqué humor and a decidedly dark, otherworldly sensibility. Tracking four space castaways stranded on a dormant ship -- undead soldier Kai (Michael McManus), the straightlaced Officer Stan (Brian Downey), heartbroken cold-blooded assassin 790 (Jeffrey Hirschfield), and wide-eyed intergalactic glamour-puss Xev (Xenia Seeberg) -- the show has continued to find witty, suggestive ways to wriggle into libidinal orbits that most sci-fi shows keep latent. The third season finds LEXXs crew awakening from a 4,000-year nap to discover themselves caught in a centuries-long confrontation between planets Water and Fire, a battle that brings out the randiest side of each character and tests loyalties. Both VHS and DVD editions contain the uncut versions of the seasons first four episodes -- "Fire and Water," "May," Gametown," and "Boomtown" -- including material thats a tad hot for Stateside, even on basic cable.
