Barnes & Noble More first-season I Love Lucy fun can be found in this fourth Season 1 volume, which includes Episodes 12 through 15 from the legendary sitcoms debut run. "The Adagio" has Lucy taking Parisian dance lessons with designs on joining Rickys club act. In "The Benefit," Lucy yearns to join Ricky in a musical benefit. In "The Amateur Hour," Lucy baby-sits twins who are preparing to appear on a variety show. And "Lucy Plays Cupid" is a bungled case of matchmaking when Lucy tries to find a love connection for her neighbor Miss Lewis. Lucille Ball and husband Desi Arnaz are, of course, Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, while William Frawley and Vivian Vance play their neighbors and best friends, Fred and Ethel Mertz. The hilarious dynamics of this quartet are already firmly established in these early episodes. Ball is a force of nature as always, and even from these early shows, its easy to see why I Love Lucy changed the face of American television. The DVD includes flubs, a behind-the-scenes audio featurette, and radio shows.
