 Barnes & Noble Patrick McGoohans first spy hit, Danger Man, debuted in the U.S. as a summer replacement series airing Wednesday nights on CBS, stepping into the time slot held by Dick Powells Zane Grey Theater and lingering much longer in the memory. A production of Englands ITC, Danger Man introduced McGoohans globe-trotting master spy, John Drake, a lone wolf working top-secret operations for NATO, defusing global injustice wherever it rears its ugly head. This box set collects the original 39 episodes, which saw Drakes assignments take him all around Europe and even into Africa. Unlike later spy series -- and even its immediate successor, Secret Agent -- Danger Man focused more on nuts-and-bolts investigation and less on glamour and action. Digitally remastered and restored, the discs present the episodes in their original U.K. broadcast order.
