London calling! Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz is off to the land of 007 as teenage secret agent Cody Banks, pursuing a CIA renegade who has stolen a mind-control device. His cover: playing clarinet in an orchestra featuring musical prodigies from around the world. Just as Codys awkwardness with the opposite sex hindered his first mission, here the difficulty arises from his lack of musical ability (turns out he only joined his high school marching band to meet girls, news which is greeted with a hysterically incredulous look by his superior). After only a scant two films, it seems that Frankie has already outgrown this fledgling franchise, but his adoring audience will still get their kicks from his spy-kid antics, complete with Bondian action and way-cool gadgets. Anthony Anderson (Kangaroo Jack) provides some flop-sweat comic relief as a demoted agent reluctantly assigned to be Codys handler in London. Hilary Duff is missing in action this time around, but U.K. pop singer Hannah Spearitt -- portraying an undercover British intelligence agent named Emily -- is just as cute. No damsel in distress, she gets to kick some butt. Clever product placement (exploding Mentos) and the requisite mildly rude humor will amuse the target audience, but it is the extremely likable and personable Muniz who makes Destination London such a fun trip.
