Barnes & Noble Break open the Bolly, because the marvelous maenads of Absolutely Fabulous are back! Six years after their first three award-winning seasons, Patsy (Joanna Lumley) and Edina (writer Jennifer Saunders) offer up six more silly adventures. Since you last saw them, Edina has a new TV production company and Patsy has been promoted, but other than that, not much has changed for the decadent duo. Theyre still as fabulous as ever -- if not more so -- and Patsys resolute daughter, Saffron (Julia Sawalha), still fills in as a parent for her eternally childish mother. In the opener, "Parralox," Edinas chance at fame on morning TV forces her to erase her wrinkles -- with disastrous results. In "Fish Farm," Edina has eyes for the sexy new gardener. "Paris" finds Patsy in front of the camera for a photo shoot; could a mother-daughter spread be in the works? Edina finds her first-ever muscle in "Donkey," and Patsy makes the move to free herself of those outdated bangs. "Small Opening" features Saffys heart-wrenching, autobiographical play -- the contents of which concerns Patsy less than the question of by whom she will be portrayed. Finally, Eddy and Patsy face the music in "Menopause," visiting Menopausal Anonymous. Eddy fends off the codependency, but could there be a kinder, gentler Patsy on the rise? Only time will tell, darling! The two-DVD set of this fourth, frisky series also includes the "Mirror Ball" special, commentary by Saunders and producer Jon Plowman, and a "Whos Who" guide to the series.
